Week 10 in Men's Midwest Division 1 USA Rugby held some surprise results but no dramatic changes in the rankings.
Metropolis looked to be cruising to an easy victory with a 36-10 lead before Columbus scored 4 unanswered tries in the closing 10 minutes to draw the score. Each side received 3 points for their efforts and maintain their first and second spots in the table.
Surging at the end of the match, the Barbarians looked to be heading into Winter break with 6-straight wins. But time ran out before they could overcome the Lions' lead. With final score of 33-29, Milwaukee gets 2 bonus points — not enough to hold onto 3rd place as they drop to 4th — and the Lions net 5 to narrow the gap in the standings at 5th place.
The Blues capitalized on the Barbarians stumble with a confident 52-23 win at home over the Griffins. The bonus-point win was enough to edge out the Barbarians for 3rd place having been knocked to 4th in Week 9.
In Cincinatti, the Wolfhounds ended a tough Fall season with their first victory of the year, a close 29-25 match against struggling Palmer who extend their streak to 4 losses.
All the teams in the Midwest are now on break through Spring.
