Milwaukee Barbarians travelling to New Orleans to face local rugby team

The Milwaukee Barbarians head south again for their annual Spring Tour to face the New Orleans Rugby Football Club (NOLA Rugby).

NOLA Rugby — who have recently partnered with the professional rugby startup NOLA GOLD — hosts the Milwaukee rugby team on February 3rd at 1PM.

The trip offers an excellent opportunity to warm up for spring rugby, play against strong competition outside of the Midwest competitive region, and offers plenty of time for team building.

In prior years the Milwaukee Barbarians have entered social tournaments to warm up for the spring season. But this year, thanks to an invitation from Wisconsin native and Muskego alumnus Ryan Fitzgerald, the Barbarians get to take on former DII National champions NOLA Rugby. Ryan is currently General Manager/Director of Rugby- NOLA GOLD Major League Rugby Club.

Roster Spots Available

Any interested rugger is invited to be a part of this great opportunity to dust the boots off and get on the pitch for the first time this year.  There will be rolling subs to ensure everyone get plenty of play time. To help with the cost of the trip NOLA GOLD has kindly offered their corporate rate for hotels which are just a short distance from Bourbon Street.

For those interested to join the tour, there remains a few open roster spots. Anyone interested in attending should contact Todd Chini at 217-480-6294 or [email protected].
