On what started as a rainy morning that turned into a great day for rugby, the Harlequins had some mixed yet positive results vs. the day’s opponents. A detailed synopsis will be posted later.
D1 vs. Lincoln Park – WIN 12-3
If you were a writer or reader for rugbymag.com, you might have thought the Harlequins 2010-2011 D1 season was already over. However, thankfully, rugby matches are most often decided on the pitch. A sea-saw battle for field position led to a relatively low scoring match, however the Harlequins prevailed, in large part to a dominating forward pack.
D3 vs. Black and Blue – LOSS 29-25
Historically these matches have always been entertaining and quite ‘spirited’. This day’s match was no exception. Both teams featured quick backfields and fairly evenly matched forward packs. Unlike last fall when the BnB dominated, particularly in the second half, the match was close. The BnB did capitialize on several lose ball\open field plays, which was enough to tip the scales in favor of the visitors.
