Opening week nets mixed results.

On Saturday the Milwaukee Harlequins began their 2011 campaign at home with both division 3 and division 1 matches.

Division 3 hosted the Madison Minotaurs. The Harlequins put on defensive and offensive clinics with triple-digit shut-out performance. Final score: 104-0.

Division 1 hosted the Chicago Lions who abruptly dropped out of Super League last week. The Lions had the upperhand in the first half and capitalized on nearly every error by the home side leading to a score of 24-7 at the break.

The second half was a much tighter contest, and with the score at 31-17, the Harlequins applied long periods of pressure and multiple phases. After 15 minutes in the Lions 22m and only 2 minutes to go, the Harlequins continued to push for the try-line to narrow the margin.

But as in the first half, a Quins handling error was punished by a 80m try for the Lions. At the whistle, the Lions would miss the conversion for a 36-17 final.
