Barbarians finish 5th and 7th in first leg of National Qualifier series.

The Milwaukee Barbarians took their first steps today towards qualifying for a spot at the USA Rugby National Club 7s Championship to be held in August.

The Milwaukee-area rugby club sent three sides to the Madtown 7s in Madison, WI, with two sides entered in the Qualifier bracket and one in the Open bracket. 

At the end of the day, the Barbarians finished in 5th and 7th place in the Qualifier bracket. In the Open bracket, the team exited after the pool-stage matches.

Next week the Barbarians send two Qualifier sides to the the Minnesota 7s, and a third side to Harborfest in Kenosha.

Vic has a long history in and around the sport of rugby both in Canada and the US. He has played for and started numerous clubs (Vandal's RFC, Strathcona Druids, Suffolk Bull Moose, West Side Harlequins, Milwaukee Barbarians, Hamilton Girls Rugby), and served many roles over the years at all administrative levels. Vic joined the Harlequins in 2007 and remained an active club member through the transition to the Barbarians. These days, he spends his rugby time playing tag rugby and touring with the Old Boys, keeping the club website updated, helping organize the Lakefront 7s, and fundraising.
