Milwaukee overcomes initial deficit but falls short at the final whistle in Kansas City.
The Barbarians suffered their first loss of the spring season today in a high-scoring match in Kansas City vs. the Blues.
The match started poorly for the visitors as Kansas controlled possession and field position for much of the first 20 minutes yielding 3 converted tries. 21-0 for the Blues.
But in an impressive show of heart and determination, Milwaukee turned up both the offense and defense. With just 12 minutes remaining in the match, the visitors had scored 36 points with the Blues adding only a penalty: 36-24 Barbarians.
But the Blues found another gear and after two tries, including one at the final whistle, the hosts regained the lead and took the win 43-39.
