Barbarians persist in loss to Sharks

In division three action, the boys put in a good, high energy shift against a solid WRC Sharks side today.

Early on, inconsistency and errors by the visitors gave the Sharks great field position and lots of possession. The hosts capitalized on their opportunities while the Barbarians struggled to have offensive cohesion.

At half-time, the Sharks had a solid 36-7 lead.

In the second half the Barbarians improved dramatically on both sides of the ball and outscored their opponents 12-5 for a final score of 41-19 for the Sharks.

It’s not easy to stay in the fight when the scoreboard is lopsided. The lads showed great heart and determination, especially our Man of the Match Sam Boeyen who carried strong and tackled relentlessly.
