Every winter the Barbarians hold a month-long membership drive to support our goal of developing a dedicated rugby facility in Milwaukee. And today, our 2025 campaign kicks off!
Running through the end of February, this campaign is inspired by the classic Pabst Blue Ribbon logo (see above), and features some exciting new perks for members.
Additionally, we are expanding our fundraising opportunities to include more active players alongside our alumni and other benefactors.
Welcome “Sustaining Players”
Our annual fundraising drive is centered around “Sustaining Memberships”, monthly contributions targeted towards facility development.
Importantly, 50% of every donation is allocated to developing a permanent rugby facility in Milwaukee.
New for 2025 is the “Sustaining Player” tier which costs $60/mo. It includes all fees for tackle rugby and, like all sustaining memberships, 50% is ear-marked for our facility fund.
Additionally, Sustaining Players can choose one of two exclusive perks: a stylish, long-sleeve quarter-zip, or a cotton T-shirt branded with a unique variation of our 2025 campaign logo.

Our Sustaining Patrons donate $50/mo. As a thank-you for such a generous contribution, we are excited to offer this laser-engraved decanter and glass set (below).
The decanter features our club’s main logo while the glasses are individualized. Logos from the Harlequins, Barbarians and the Lakefront 7s — our signature fundraising event — are all represented.
In addition to helping remember who has been served which glass, the logos depict a brief history of our club; particularly apt in our 50th year!
Patrons will also receive this Richardson Leatherette Patch Hat featuring the campaign logo.

The bulk of our Sustaining Members are in the Partner or Supporter tier. We’ve got some great gifts for them also.
Partners ($25/mo) will receive the long-sleeve quarter-zip while Supporters ($15/mo) will receive the T-shirt.

Member appreciation night will be held on April 10 at Dugout 54 at 6:30PM.
We’ll raise a glass to celebrate all of our new and returning sustaining members, and hand out all of the member gifts.

Exclusive, 1-of-a-kind perks
As in the past, perks for Sustaining Members are exclusive. We will not open these up for sale in the future, and members receive the perk assigned to their tier.
Our mission is to raise enough money to develop a dedicated rugby facility in Milwaukee. Strictly maintaining exclusivity helps keep the value of memberships high, and (we hope) encourages existing members to upgrade.

Maintaining the Sustaining Members is a big commitment, especially this time of year when a lot of decisions have to be made.
