2011 Harlequin Acheivement Awards.

On Saturday night, the Milwaukee Harlequins Rugby Football Club held their annual awards banquet to honor the achievements of the players and club members for the 2011 rugby season.

The awards were presented to the winners by club Founder and President Joe Kloiber.

The following awardees were selected by their peers (with no ballot malfeasance, hanging chads, or recall petitions)

  • Most Valuable Forward – Div 1 : Aaron Young.
    • This is Aaron’s second consecutive award for anchoring the pack)
  • Most Valuable Back – Div 1: Mark Fine.
  • Most Valuable Forward – Div 3: Nate (last name not recorded).
  • Most Valuable Back – Div 3: Ben Nirschl.
    • 3 Years in a row!! A close second was Ben’s Taliban style beard.
  • Rugby Rookie of the Year : Kyle Foster.
  • Harlequin Rookie of the Year: Adam Thomas and Matt Wozniak.
    • Adam is a super-vet from out east, and Matt is a battling veteran from Marquette University.
  • Most Improved Player of the Year: Jon LeCloux
    • Is the mayor of Paris, France, or Brussels, Belgium?
  • Rugger of the Year: The irrepressible Jeff “George” Hoffman
    • He’ll not only knock you into next week, he’ll sell you the plot of land your body will rest on!
