Milwaukee rugby open sevens season with 1st and 3rd place trophies in Fond du Lac.

The Milwaukee Barbarians opened the summer sevens season with a comprehensive 1st-place victory in Fond du Lac, WI at the Lighthouse 7s. 

Seeding round

The A-side crusied through the seeding rounds with shout-out victories over the Black & Blue (43-0), MRFC2 (41-0) and Fond Du Lac (46-0).

Meanwhile, the Barbarian B-side had similar success with three victories over teams including Sheboygan (36-0) and Fox Cities (41-0).

Semi-finals

The 1st semi-final for the day saw the Barbarian A- and B- sides meet in the first real contest of the day. With a final score of 29-10, the A-side headed off to the final against MRFC1 with the B-side matched against the Green Bay Ballstrikers for 3rd place.

Like most of the day, the Milwaukee Barbarians A-side put on an offensive clinic and dominated posession for most of the match culminating in a 31-0 victory and the 1st-place trophy.

For the B-side, the Ballstrikers competed well and the score was level at 17 at the full-time whistle. The Barbarians held strong though and came out the victors with the first points in sudden-death overtime: final score 22-17.

He has played for and started numerous clubs (Vandal's RFC, Strathcona Druids, Suffolk Bull Moose, Westside Harlequins, Milwaukee Barbarians, Hamilton Girls Rugby), and served many roles over the years at all administrative levels. Vic joined the Harlequins in 2007 and remained an active club member through the transition to the Barbarians. These days, he spends his rugby time playing tag rugby and touring with the Old Boys, keeping the club website updated, helping organize the Lakefront 7s, and fundraising.
