Ben Nirschl scores a hat trick during interdivisional friendly vs. Metropolis.

Ben Nirschl had the match of his career on Saturday against firm opposition: the Division 2 Metropolis side out of Minneapolis, MN.

Ben has been preparing for this match with months of training at the gym and a high work rate at practices. And the effort clearly paid off as Nirschl dotted over the chalk three times for a personal haul of 15 points, a career high.

Said Nirschl of his performance: “220 pound fly halfs don’t dance.”

Although the match remained competitive, all of Nirschl’s efforts were not enough to help the Barbarians Division 3 side overcome Metropolis.

Fans can see Nirschl this Saturday in Milwaukee when the Barbarians host Kansas City (D1) and Oconomowoc (D3) in our Spring home double-header.
