It’s been a fun summer around the club. With many of the players resting from the campaign for Nationals, lots of new faces got a chance to shine are area events.
And as a result, we notched two more trophies all while raising money for a great cause and hosting another great Lakefront 7s.
Here’s all the details!
Lion Hunter 7s
To start off the recap we take a look at the squads that came together to take home another championship finish at Lion Hunters after taking 2nd last year.
A tourney we love sending tons of people to always kicks off the summer of 7s in the right way. After our aversion to taking 1st last year we started this summer correctly.
Parkinson’s Association fundraiser
The Papa Joe golf outing went on for the first time since the passing of Papa Joe, and the community showed up big! Last year this event ran at a loss for the club and this year our community bounced back to raise $2100 !!!
Lakefront 7s
Next we had year 41 of Lakefront 7s. Field set up was smooth sailing on Thursday, Saturday had plenty of volunteers and almost too many players! We were able to field 5 full squads and keep the tournament running smoothly.
Make sure to mark your calendar for next year when the Lakefront 7s will be on June 21, 2025.
Harborfest 7s
Harborfest 7s in Kenosha was a great time as two Barbarian teams qualified for bracket play to end the day.
We finished the day with one of our sides taking home 1st place.
Big shout out to rookie Barbarian Chase Johnson taking home Tournament MVP honors.
Pigfest 10s
The last tournament of the summer wrapped up last weekend in Oshkosh.
A new, unfortunate Barbarian tradition has started: finishing 2nd place! We’ve landed here three years running.
